for players that will eventually attend Klein Oak High School.

Steve Sparks is giving a pitching camp on Saturday 2/6/2010 from 12:30pm-4:00pm at Baseball USA for $75.00.
I (Mitch Moon) played college baseball with Steve and he is a great instructor and person.
He was 11-0 with a 1.94 ERA our senior year in college (Sam Houston State)
Steve went on to play 9 years of Major League Baseball and would be
a great way to get some "real" advice for pitchers.

In the event a player cannot play on the assigned team some minor changes may take place.
We expanded the rosters to 12 per team to account for the large group of talent in this age group.
If the team your player was assigned to is not possible please email me at mitch.moon@att.net asap !

If you did not make one of these teams that DOES NOT mean you won't be considered for the
SUMMER SEASON and or the KLEIN OAK HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.
Likewise, making one of these teams is NO GUARANTEE that you will be selected for the

SPRING SEASON PREP-TEAM TRYOUTS
** If you played this fall and have a conflict just make sure to send me an
email with what team you want to be considered for this spring (if you have not already done so).
We have seen you in a tryout already and it's ok to miss on
Sunday as long as I know your intentions for the spring. **

Sunday January 24 at 12:30 pm (Done by 2:00pm)
at KLEIN OAK HIGH SCHOOL FIELD
If you plan on attending the tryouts (and did not tryout this Fall) please download, fill out
and fax this information sheet to 281-225-8507 prior to the tryout.
Be there around 12:15 pm
We will start warm-ups ALL TOGETHER at 12:35pm
A quick parent meeting will be held at 12:40pm

Note: The team you were on in the fall has no bearing on what team you will be on this spring.

We have two options this spring so read below for details:
*The finances (collections and payments for league, tournaments, etc.. will all be
handled through our Blacksox Baseball account as it was this fall and will be this summer*
* Both teams already have uniforms, but I do have a few extra jerseys and hats if needed *

KO Black Team
Coaches: Wright and Mason
Assistants: TBD
Mitch Moon will be assisting at practices and some games.
On occasion, I will have current Klein Oak players attend practices to help work with the
kids in specific areas (infield, outfield, pitching, catching, hitting, etc..)
This team will play league ball at Spring-Klein and will play tournaments together until the High School Summer League starts in June.
Players on this team will be selected from the BEST eleven (11) players that tryout and want to play tournaments together
(and not play on another team).
They can certainly take lessons anywhere they want, but can only play for the
KO Panther Black team this spring.

KO Gold Team
Coaches: TBD (if interested email mitch.moon@att.net)
I need coaches to have a team !
Assistants: TBD
Mitch Moon will be assisting at practices and some games.
On occasion, I will have current Klein Oak players attend practices to help work with the
kids in specific areas (infield, outfield, pitching, catching, hitting, etc..)
This team will play league ball at Spring-Klein, but will NOT play tournaments together.
Players on this team will be selected from the NEXT BEST eleven (11) players that tryout.
These players can play on other select teams during the spring.

I need an email from each family that will be at tryouts indicating your desire for the spring:
Options are:
(1) KO BLACK - play all spring with this team
(2) KO GOLD - play only league with this team and play tournaments with another team
(3) NEITHER - There will be another tryout in May for the Summer League which you will attend

** Note about Baseball Bats **
We recommend that players begin to move to -3 (drop 3) this spring and certainly in
the High School Summer League (coming in June 2010).

If you have a conflict with the tryout date please fax
the sheet anyway and email the coordinator
stating that you have a conflict (otherwise you will be left out).

Being on the Prep or Summer Team DOES NOT mean you have made the Klein Oak High School Team.
Not being on the Prep or Summer Team DOES NOT mean you can't tryout and make the Klein Oak High School Team.
Klein Oak High School Tryouts are in January every year.
